From June 2 to 5, Fondazione CRT will take part in the Philea Forum, the leading event in European philanthropy, held this year in Lisbon under the theme “Power and Equality: A Balancing Act.”
Within the Agora space – dedicated to sharing outstanding initiatives from European foundations – Fondazione CRT will present two projects among 18 selected best practices that promote inclusion, proximity, and social innovation: the Portale dei Saperi, developed by the Rete Italiana di Cultura Popolare, and the Condominio Solidale Debouchè, supported by Fondazione Sviluppo e Crescita CRT and REAM SGR.
Portale dei Saperi and Portinerie di Comunità
Supported by Fondazione CRT through its long-standing collaboration with the Rete Italiana di Cultura Popolare (of which it is a founding member), the Portale dei Saperi is a digital platform that maps, connects, and organizes the resources within a given territory—people, businesses, associations, and infrastructure.
It offers a dynamic overview capable of identifying social needs and activating participatory solutions that involve various actors (such as philanthropic institutions, social enterprises, public entities, and private companies). This makes the platform a valuable tool for territorial governance and a powerful enabler of community activation.
So far, it has been used to engage communities around key issues such as job integration, school dropout prevention, solidarity networks, and citizen services (from local transportation to administrative support, services for children, seniors, and families, as well as cultural events).
The Portale is also the technological foundation for the Portinerie di Comunità, a growing model of community-based welfare and social franchising that originated in Turin and is expanding across Italy and beyond. Its development is now being enhanced through AI applications.
Condominio Solidale Debouchè – “Abitare Gold”
Also featured at the Philea Forum will be the Condominio Solidale Debouchè – Abitare Gold project in Nichelino, conceived by Fondazione Sviluppo e Crescita CRT, together with Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and REAM SGR.
The project will showcase the importance of pilot initiatives in the field of active ageing, an emerging priority for many foundations. Debouchè is an experimental housing model designed for low-to-middle-income self-sufficient seniors, with the aim of creating multigenerational communities and strengthening social ties within neighborhoods.
It includes 88 social housing apartments at accessible rents, 8 of which are reserved for older adults, helping them age in place with dignity and support. Dedicated staff provide daily assistance, fostering independence and reducing isolation. A unique initiative for its level of social integration.
Philea (Philanthropy Europe Association) is the European network of over 300 philanthropic foundations, networks, and organizations across 38 countries. It is a key reference point for data, trends, and collaboration in international philanthropy. For the 2025–2027 period, Philea’s focus areas are equality, climate, and democracy.
