Falling birth rates and demographic policies, youth and NEETs, immigration and integration, tariffs and sustainability: the full program of the International Festival of Economics in Turin is now online. The event will take place from Friday, May 30 to Monday, June 2, 2025, with the support of Fondazione CRT.
Promoted by Editori Laterza, Collegio Carlo Alberto, and Torino Local Committee (TOLC), and curated by Tito Boeri, the 2025 edition will feature over 100 events exploring many of today’s most urgent global issues. On stage: economists, sociologists, psychologists, and direct witnesses of immigration, family life transformation, labor demand trends, and youth challenges.
New Generations: Challenges, Hopes, and Contradictions
This year’s theme, “The World’s New Generations”, focuses on present-day challenges while looking toward the future. Central to the discussion are young people’s experiences and perspectives in the face of economic crises, wars, unstable job markets, psychological distress, and environmental uncertainty — along with opportunities for change through education, work, and technological innovation.
Among the key speakers: world-renowned economists Paul Krugman, Michael Spence, James Heckman, and Joel Mokyr, alongside prominent Italian and international voices in sociology, psychology, demography, and literature, including Massimo Recalcati, Chiara Saraceno, Matteo Lancini, Stefano Bartezzaghi, Alessandra Minello, and Ginevra Lamberti.
Where Does the Future Sleep?
On Monday, June 2 at 2:30 PM, don’t miss the event hosted by Fondazione CRT at the Auditorium Oratorio San Filippo Neri, focused on local youth policies and the need for suitable student housing infrastructure.
Participants include Michela Favaro (Deputy Mayor of Turin), Andrea Gavosto (Director, Fondazione Agnelli), Patrizia Polliotto (Secretary General, Fondazione CRT), Carlo Ratti (architect and urbanist), and Andrea Lecce (Head of the Impact Directorate, Intesa Sanpaolo), moderated by Maria Laura Di Tommaso.
