BeST – Timeless Heritage is the new thematic grant programme dedicated to the restoration and enhancement of cultural assets of significant historical, artistic, and architectural value located in Piedmont and the Aosta Valley. Building on the objectives of the previous Restauri Cantieri Diffusi programme, the call aims to:
- promote knowledge and effective public enjoyment of the restored assets by local communities and visitors from other areas;
- support the inclusion of these assets within existing or upcoming cultural and tourism promotion programmes;
- encourage co-design, partnerships, civic participation, and the use of cultural assets for cultural, social, and educational initiatives;
- foster fundraising activities by applicant organizations to support the long-term preservation of cultural heritage;
- strengthen professional skills and, more broadly, support the network of craftspeople and specialists working in the cultural heritage sector, which represents an excellence of the region.
Eligible projects must concern cultural assets protected under Italian Legislative Decree No. 42 of 22 January 2004 and may include:
- the restoration of movable heritage assets (paintings, organs, statues, books and archival materials, wooden furnishings, etc.);
- the restoration of historic buildings and architectural heritage;
- the restoration of decorative elements (frescoes, decorative schemes, and similar works);
- the restoration of historic parks and gardens of cultural significance (artistic, historical, botanical, or landscape value).
