New funding from Fondazione CRT will support the completion of several initiatives related to the redevelopment of Valentino Park and the construction of the new Central Civic Library. The measure was approved yesterday by the City Council through a resolution proposed by Mayor Stefano Lo Russo.
The Foundation’s contribution amounts to €7 million and is intended to further strengthen one of the city’s flagship urban regeneration projects within the strategic framework of “Torino Cambia”, which will transform the Valentino area into a new cultural, environmental and social hub for Turin.
The measure authorises an addendum to the agreement signed on 15 December 2025 between the City of Turin and Fondazione CRT, regulating the relationship between the two entities within the framework of the project “Torino Cambia: Spaces that Bring People Together”. The initiative forms part of a broader shared strategy involving the City of Turin, Fondazione CRT and OGR, aimed at enhancing the former Torino Esposizioni complex through a systemic approach based on public-private collaboration. The redevelopment project integrates library services, cultural production, innovation and civic participation, in line with the Foundation’s mission of promoting social utility and local development.
“The redevelopment of Valentino Park and the new Central Civic Library are projects in which the City administration strongly believes and has invested considerable resources,” said Stefano Lo Russo, Mayor of Turin. “They will provide residents and visitors alike with a renewed green space and a cultural and tourism hub of excellence. Our strategic collaboration with Fondazione CRT, based on a system-wide approach and public-private cooperation, is part of a shared institutional path aimed at making the most of this transforming area as a new focal point for participation, culture and innovation in the city.”
“The intervention in the Valentino area represents another strategic component of the ‘Torino Cambia’ project,” said Anna Maria Poggi, Chair of Fondazione CRT. “Fondazione CRT is providing an additional €7 million through the reserve fund linked to tax returns, adding to the significant resources already allocated to the City Plan, together with its expertise and organisational capabilities. These resources will make it possible, in particular, to complete the new Central Civic Library, both structurally and in terms of furnishings, and to ensure full accessibility to the new Valentino hub.”
