In its twenty-fifth year, the Foundation continues to implement the strategic lines of its programme, strengthening its vision and impact through a combination of key initiatives and special projects:
-
Public Space, seen as a privileged context for creating artworks through active engagement with residents, local institutions and associations, making art accessible and participatory.
-
Internationalisation, an openness to projects beyond Turin and Piedmont.
-
Community, the guiding principle behind all the Foundation’s activities, both as a recipient of initiatives and as a way to foster inclusive networks and social connections through art.
-
Professions, with a focus on contemporary art roles and the need to cultivate specialised professional skills.
-
Education, a long-standing pillar of the Foundation’s action, helping people of all ages to engage with and appreciate artistic languages.
-
Collection, the core of the Foundation’s institutional identity, offering an artistic heritage for the benefit of the public.
“The Foundation’s programme reflects what these 25 years have represented, but also what Fondazione CRT has always stood for: promoting culture as a collective good, generating value through art, and making heritage accessible to all,” says Anna Maria Poggi, President of Fondazione CRT. “Established in 2000 to enhance a group of Arte Povera works, the Foundation has since grown into an internationally recognised cultural institution, with a collection of over 930 works by 330 artists, shared with the community and with Turin’s museums. Over time, we’ve deepened our engagement with the local area—such as through the public art project Radis—and we continue to support the contemporary art ecosystem in Piedmont. Projects such as Aperto and aulArte have become national best practices in training and education. Today, the Foundation continues to help define Turin’s identity as the Italian capital of contemporary art. The return of CIMAM to Italy—hosted in Turin after over fifty years—is a recognition of this open, forward-looking vision, especially in response to emerging challenges like AI and the blending of art and technology, which naturally converge at the OGR Torino, Fondazione CRT’s hub for culture and innovation, where CIMAM will begin.”
“It is a pleasure to see all the upcoming initiatives collected in this rich calendar, bearing witness to the continuity and growth of our 2024–2027 programme,” adds Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, President of the Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT. “The six strategic keywords reflect our founding vocations in collecting and education, while guiding our investments into innovative programmes in public art, advanced training and international engagement. Around the Collection—now in its 25th year—the Foundation remains deeply committed to serving art audiences, institutions and professionals. I’m confident that Radis and Aperto will once again prove their strategic value for both the Foundation and the territory. I’m also pleased that Fondazione CRT and Fondazione Arte are supporting the 2025 CIMAM Annual Conference in Turin, a high-profile international event that will reaffirm our city’s centrality on the global contemporary art map.”
