Also present were the Rectors Stefano Corgnati (Politecnico di Torino), Cristina Prandi (University of Turin) and Menico Rizzi (University of Eastern Piedmont), alongside key national research and development centres, including the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), CINECA and Fondazione Chips-IT.

The event – moderated by RAI journalist Barbara Carfagna – brought together the entire innovation ecosystem. Alongside Fondazione CRT President Anna Maria Poggi, contributions were delivered by Marco Gilli, President of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, Marco Gay, President of the Turin Industrial Union, Massimiliano Cipolletta, President of the Turin Chamber of Commerce, and Laura Morgagni, Director of Fondazione Piemonte Innova, representing a territorial value chain integrating institutions, foundations, industry and research.

During the Forum, the AI4I Strategic Plan 2026–2030 was publicly presented by President Fabio Pammolli together with Scientific Committee Chair Marco Pavone and Director Antonio E. Calegari, outlining the Institute’s development priorities in research, infrastructure, technology transfer and services for industry.

Throughout the sessions, representatives from major Italian companies and research institutions discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on organisational models, data management, computing infrastructure and the skills required for industrial transformation, highlighting AI as a matter of industrial policy as well as technological innovation.

“Officine d’Intelligenza,” commented AI4I President Fabio Pammolli at the end of the day, “brings together institutions, the scientific community and industry around a shared goal: building a continuous value chain that connects research with engineering and industrial application of artificial intelligence technologies. The Strategic Plan presented today marks the Institute’s transition into full operational capacity, with research, development and engineering laboratories led by young scientists recruited in Turin from leading research centres in the United States, Europe and Israel. AI4I has developed a true marketplace for SMEs and completed the setup of its HPC and AI Foundry, Peano, conceived as a bridge platform between research and industry. The widespread adoption of artificial intelligence requires coordination, complementary investment and strong design and organisational capabilities. It is on this ground that the country can transform knowledge into industrial competitiveness and into freedom in work.”

“Officine d’Intelligenza further confirms how OGR Torino represents a strategic hub for dialogue, a space where institutions, research and businesses collaborate to shape future directions,” stated Anna Maria Poggi, President of Fondazione CRT. “An ecosystem has grown here that places data science, artificial intelligence and technology transfer at the centre as drivers of development, integrating infrastructure and human capital, innovation and skills at the service of the industrial system. In a global context in which AI is transforming all sectors of production, gaps in knowledge and education risk concentrating its benefits in the hands of a few. This is where the responsibility of institutions and intermediary bodies becomes decisive in ensuring that innovation is a shared good, capable of generating social impact and widespread opportunities. From this perspective, we are orienting our action towards a modern philanthropy that not only provides resources but builds ecosystems and activates strategic alliances.”

The day concluded with the lecture-performance L’Incompiuta, moderated by Vittorio Di Tomaso, Managing Director Data & AI at Jakala, featuring Pierpaolo Peretti Griva, co-founder of Motel Connection, and Matteo Ruffo, violinist of the RAI National Symphony Orchestra. Through live performances and reflections on the relationship between composition and execution, the performance offered a cultural perspective on the Forum’s themes, exploring the role of human work in a context of increasing automation.

Officine d’Intelligenza, the 1st National Forum on Artificial Intelligence for Industry, promoted by the Italian Institute for Artificial Intelligence (AI4I), Fondazione CRT and OGR Torino, took place at OGR Torino.

[268
447
post-18119","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-fondazione-crt-en","tag-intelligenza-artificiale-en
["GET
