The committee includes <strong data-start=\"259\" data-end=\"469\">the City of Turin, the Piedmont Region, the Metropolitan City, the Chamber of Commerce, the University of Turin, the Polytechnic University of Turin, Fondazione CRT, and Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"474\" data-end=\"768\">Chaired by <strong data-start=\"485\" data-end=\"511\">Mayor Stefano Lo Russo<\/strong>, the committee will remain in place until <strong data-start=\"554\" data-end=\"575\">December 31, 2027<\/strong>, with the goal of fostering broad participation in the bid process. Through initiatives engaging institutions, local, national, and international stakeholders, and citizens, the bid aims to:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"770\" data-end=\"1090\">\n<li data-start=\"770\" data-end=\"838\">Enhance <strong data-start=\"259\" data-end=\"469\">Turin&#8217;s <\/strong><strong data-start=\"780\" data-end=\"836\">historical, artistic, and cultural heritage<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"839\" data-end=\"911\">Engage the local community, with a <strong data-start=\"876\" data-end=\"909\">special focus on young people<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"912\" data-end=\"973\">Strengthen the <strong data-start=\"929\" data-end=\"971\">tourism sector and attract investments<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"974\" data-end=\"1044\">Promote <strong data-start=\"984\" data-end=\"1042\">international collaboration and intercultural dialogue<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1045\" data-end=\"1090\">Highlight <strong data-start=\"1057\" data-end=\"1088\">European cultural diversity<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1092\" data-end=\"1197\">Funding contributions to support the project will be determined annually by the participating entities.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1199\" data-end=\"1244\">A Collective Effort for <strong data-start=\"259\" data-end=\"469\">Turin<\/strong>\u2019s Future<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1246\" data-end=\"1844\">\u201cThe signing of this protocol,\u201d explains <strong data-start=\"1287\" data-end=\"1313\">Mayor Stefano Lo Russo<\/strong>, \u201csymbolizes, as we have seen with city branding efforts, the commitment of local institutions to work together, valuing Turin&#8217;s transformations and sharing a common vision for the future. But this will be a bid for the <strong data-start=\"1535\" data-end=\"1550\">entire city<\/strong>, aiming to involve all Torinesi from the start, particularly young people. We are making an <strong data-start=\"1643\" data-end=\"1676\">investment in Turin\u2019s future<\/strong>, with <strong data-start=\"1683\" data-end=\"1712\">culture as its foundation<\/strong>, and with the determination of a city that has long been a driving force for development and one of Italy\u2019s major cultural hubs.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1846\" data-end=\"1875\">Leadership and Planning<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1877\" data-end=\"2282\">The <strong data-start=\"1881\" data-end=\"1917\">Fondazione per la Cultura Torino<\/strong> will oversee all necessary actions, from <strong data-start=\"1959\" data-end=\"1974\">fundraising<\/strong> to formal procedures, to prepare the bid dossier. The foundation has appointed <strong data-start=\"2054\" data-end=\"2074\">Agostino Riitano<\/strong>, a cultural manager, as <strong data-start=\"2099\" data-end=\"2122\">director of the bid<\/strong>. He will lead the drafting of the dossier, coordinate <strong data-start=\"2177\" data-end=\"2204\">thematic working groups<\/strong>, and ensure alignment with the vision and objectives of the City of Turin.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2284\" data-end=\"2530\">Additionally, upon the proposal of the <strong data-start=\"2323\" data-end=\"2376\">President of the Strategic Coordination Committee<\/strong>, an <strong data-start=\"2381\" data-end=\"2399\">Advisory Board<\/strong> will be appointed to support, develop, and promote the cultural values of the bid at both the national and international levels.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2532\" data-end=\"2583\">Next Steps: A Collaborative Cultural Strategy<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2585\" data-end=\"2701\">Following preliminary work in recent months and the formal establishment of the committee, <strong data-start=\"2676\" data-end=\"2698\">2025 will focus on<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2703\" data-end=\"2887\">\n<li data-start=\"2703\" data-end=\"2781\">Building a network of <strong data-start=\"2727\" data-end=\"2779\">cultural, scientific, and institutional partners<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2782\" data-end=\"2844\">Analyzing <strong data-start=\"2794\" data-end=\"2842\">the strengths of Turin\u2019s cultural ecosystem<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2845\" data-end=\"2887\">Launching a <strong data-start=\"2859\" data-end=\"2885\">communication strategy<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2889\" data-end=\"3032\">The various project phases will lead to the completion of the <strong data-start=\"2951\" data-end=\"2991\">first bid dossier by the end of 2026<\/strong>, which will then be submitted in 2027.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3034\" data-end=\"3073\">A Historic Opportunity for Turin<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3075\" data-end=\"3699\">\u201cThe bid for <strong data-start=\"3088\" data-end=\"3134\">Turin as European Capital of Culture 2033<\/strong> is an extraordinary opportunity to <strong data-start=\"3170\" data-end=\"3241\">strengthen teamwork among institutions, organizations, and entities<\/strong> that have long collaborated with a shared vision,\u201d states <strong data-start=\"3300\" data-end=\"3349\">Anna Maria Poggi, President of Fondazione CRT<\/strong>. \u201cThis <strong data-start=\"3357\" data-end=\"3386\">well-established alliance<\/strong> brings together ideas, projects, and initiatives to <strong data-start=\"3439\" data-end=\"3462\">enhance and promote<\/strong> an invaluable cultural heritage. Today\u2019s signing of the agreement reaffirms our commitment to turning this heritage into a <strong data-start=\"3586\" data-end=\"3631\">driver of social and economic development<\/strong>, benefiting the people of Turin\u2014especially younger generations.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3701\" data-end=\"3749\">The European Capital of Culture Initiative<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3751\" data-end=\"4072\">Launched in <strong data-start=\"3763\" data-end=\"3771\">1985<\/strong> at the initiative of <strong data-start=\"3793\" data-end=\"3838\">Greek Minister of Culture Melina Merkouri<\/strong>, the <strong data-start=\"3844\" data-end=\"3875\">European Capital of Culture<\/strong> project was conceived to bring European citizens closer together through culture.
