The European Foundation Centre (EFC) is an independent international non profit association whose mission is to strengthen the philanthropic sector through cooperation between partners. Founded in 1989 by 7 foundations, today the EFC has 236 members – predominantly foundations – from 40 different countries.

The objectives of the EFC are: to create an efficient legal and tax context for foundations, to document the scenario, to strengthen infrastructure and to promote collaboration between foundations and other types of organisations, including European institutions.

Philanthropy House is the headquarters of the EFC. Situated in the centre of Brussels, Philanthropy House is an important place where you can learn about the world of foundations and philanthropy in Europe.

"A hub of innovative debates, exhibitions, conferences (...) Philanthropy House is an initiative of the European Foundation Centre, and home to several other philanthropic support organizations".

Within the EFC, Fondazione CRT is also part of the League of Accessible and Historical Cities and is a member of the European Foundation Financial and Investment Officers Group (EFFIO).

Every year the EFC organises an Annual General Conference with participants from the world of philanthropy arriving from all over Europe: this year Milan was the location for the 26th General Assembly and Annual Conference of the EFC.
